ROCK YOUTH ORCHESTRA : SUMMER ’12 PROGRAMS
All programs open to elementary & middle school string players. This unique experience offers daily and weekly instruction in a small ensemble setting as well as courses in improvisation, rhythm, theory, music history, and master classes with guest artists.
The Summer Strings Experience Camp is an ideal activity for the young string player who is seeking a glimpse into the world of improvisation and alternative styles. Our mission is to create a fun, fast paced, challenging environment to help students connect with their passion for music.
Full-Day Camp | JULY 16-20 830A-3PM @ Mt. Olive Church, 1342 Ocean Blvd, Santa Monica
Half-Day Camp| AUG 6-10 9AM – 12PM @ First Presbyterian Church, 1220 2nd Street, Santa Monica
SPRING II ’12 (in session): April 15 - June 10, 2012
Sundays 1:30p-3p | at First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica
Tuesdays 3:45p-5:15p | near JAMS (starts again in Fall ’2012)
Tuesdays 3:30pm | at Harvard Westlake
Students must bring a music stand & their instrument. Tuition includes all other music materials.
